Montane Cordillera
The Montane Cordillera Ecozone is home to 12
species of reptiles including turtles, lizards and snakes. Three
of these are found nowhere else is Canada: Pygmy Short-horned
Lizard, Western Skink and Night Snake. It is the only ecozone in
Canada with 3 species of lizards, although the Pygmy Short-horned
Lizard is believed to be extirpated.
