Key to Blotched Snakes

Snakes with distinct blotches can be divided into two basic categories: 
those with an upturned snout (genus Heterodon) and those with a 
regular snout.

  
A. Snake with upturned snout 
             
             Snout upturned


B. Snakes with snout not upturned
             
             Snout not upturned
