New Brunswick
New Brunswick has 16 species of amphibians. This is more species
than any other province east of Québec. Because New
Brunswick does
not extend very far north, most species can be found across the
province, given the appropriate habitat. There are 4 exceptions to
this. The Northern Dusky and Four-Toed Salamanders, Gray Treefrog
and Bullfrog are all only found in the southern portion of the
province. All of the species found in New Brunswick are also found
in Ontario and Québec.
